Overview

Mucoid Cysts are small ganglion cysts that can develop on finders and toes. They can be complicated when they develop on or near a nail fold. They are more common in toes that have some form of deformity ie hammer, claw, or mallet toe. The overlying skin can become very thin and translucent. The cysts can rupture from friction and then usually reoccur.

Treatment

Conservative measures can be tried but resistent or larger forms usually require surgery to eliminate the cyst. Often bone work is needed to help reduce the tendency for reoccurance.
